Gauth Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Gauth, written in plain sentences rather than defined terms in capital letters.

Last updated: 10 September 2026

Before you rely on this

These terms are a starting template written by the people who built the product, not by a lawyer. They describe how the service actually behaves, but they do not yet name a contracting entity, a governing law, or a dispute-resolution venue, and the liability and refund provisions have not been checked against consumer protection law in any jurisdiction. Have a qualified lawyer review them before relying on them commercially.

What the service is

Gauth generates step-by-step solutions to STEM problems using an AI language model. You send a question as text or a photo; the service returns worked steps and a final answer.

That is all it promises. It does not promise that a solution is correct, complete, or suited to your course, and it is not a substitute for your textbook, your instructor, or your own judgement. We aim to keep the site available but we do not guarantee uptime, and features can change or be removed.

By using Gauth you agree to these terms. If you do not, do not use it.

Your account

You need a working email address, or a Google account, and the address you give has to be one you control. Keep your credentials to yourself — anything done through your account is treated as done by you.

An account is for one person. If you are under the age at which you can agree to an online contract where you live, you need a parent or guardian to accept these terms on your behalf. Gauth is not intended for children under 13.

Acceptable use

Do not:

Use scripts, scrapers, or automation to send problems in bulk, or resell, redistribute, or repackage Gauth output as a service of your own. Share one subscription across several people. Work around the free-tier limits — clearing cookies to farm free solutions is exactly the behaviour the per-network cap exists to stop.

Attempt to extract our prompts or credentials, probe the service for vulnerabilities without asking us first, or interfere with its operation for other users. Upload content that is unlawful, that infringes someone else’s rights, or that contains other people’s personal information. Use the service to produce anything harmful, or to harass anyone.

We may suspend or close an account that does these things, and for repeated or deliberate abuse we may do so without notice.

Academic integrity

We expect you to use Gauth to understand your work rather than to replace it. Submitting a generated solution as your own work is a breach of almost every institution’s rules, and complying with the rules that apply to you — your course policy, your assignment brief, your institution’s misconduct code — is your responsibility, not ours.

We take no responsibility for academic penalties arising from how you use the service. Our position on academic integrity sets out where we think the line sits and why.

Subscriptions and billing

The free plan gives you one search: a single question and its worked answer. Gauth Plus removes that limit and is sold at $11.99 per month, $31.99 per quarter, or $99.99 per year, in US dollars. Prices shown at checkout are the ones that apply, and any tax is added there.

Payment is taken and stored by Stripe. We never receive your card number. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, at the price then in effect, until you cancel. If we change the price of a plan you are already on, we will tell you before it takes effect and you can cancel first.

The monthly plan includes a 3-day free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the first monthly payment is taken automatically and the subscription continues. The quarterly and yearly plans do not include a trial.

If a payment fails, Stripe will retry it. Access to Plus features pauses while a subscription is unpaid.

Cancelling and refunds

Cancel whenever you like from your account page, which opens the Stripe billing portal. Cancellation stops the next renewal; access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then the account drops back to the free plan. Your saved history stays.

We do not automatically refund an unused part of a period. If something has gone wrong — a trial you meant to cancel, an unexpected renewal, a duplicate charge — email team@gauth.io and we will deal with it. Where consumer law in your country gives you a stronger right, such as a statutory cooling-off period, that law takes precedence over this paragraph.

Solutions can be wrong

Solutions are generated by a language model. They can contain mistakes, miss roots, misread notation, or misinterpret a problem, and they are written with the same confidence either way. The accuracy page is specific about where this happens and how to check a result.

The service is provided for study. It is not professional advice of any kind — not engineering, medical, financial, legal, or safety advice — and it should not be relied on for any decision that matters. Verify anything consequential against a source you trust. To the extent the law allows, the service is provided as is and without warranties of any kind, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or accuracy.

Your content and ours

The problems you submit remain yours. You give us the permission we need to process them in order to run the service: to send them to our AI provider, to generate a solution, and to store both in your history. What we do with that data is described in the privacy policy.

You are free to use the solutions you receive for your own study, subject to the academic integrity section above. The site itself — the written guides, the interface, the name, and the design — belongs to us, and you should not copy or republish it.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost marks, lost opportunities, or lost data, or for any decision made on the basis of a generated solution.

Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case those parts do not apply to you.

Suspension, termination, and changes

You can stop using Gauth at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account entirely by writing to team@gauth.io. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and where we do so without cause we will refund the unused part of a paid period.

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and for a change that materially affects your rights or what you pay, we will give notice on the site before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new version.

Contact

Questions about these terms, about a charge, or about closing an account go to team@gauth.io. The help centre answers most billing questions immediately, and the pricing page lists what each plan includes.

Frequently asked questions

How do I cancel, and when does access end?
Cancel from your account page through the Stripe billing portal. Access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, then the account reverts to the free plan. Nothing is deleted when you cancel.
Will I be charged when the 3-day trial ends?
Yes, unless you cancel before it ends. The trial is offered on the monthly plan, and the first payment is taken automatically when it expires. Cancelling during the trial costs nothing.
Do you give refunds?
We do not automatically refund part of a period you have already used. If you were charged unexpectedly — a trial you meant to cancel, a renewal you did not expect, or a duplicate charge — email team@gauth.io and we will sort it out. Consumer law where you live may give you rights beyond this.
Can I share my Plus account with a friend?
No. A subscription is for one person. Sharing credentials, or using automation to pull solutions in bulk, is grounds for suspension.
Who is responsible if a solution is wrong?
You are responsible for what you submit and for any decision you make on the basis of a solution. Gauth generates explanations with a language model and they can be wrong, which is why the accuracy page exists and why every answer carries a warning to check important results.
